A five-storey tower mill of 1787, built for Joseph Lindsell and well preserved on the hill at Stansted Mountfitchet. It opens on the first Sunday afternoon from Easter to October, with guided tours up through the machinery. The reconstructed Mountfitchet Castle is close by, and the station is a few minutes’ walk east.
