Wickham is built around a broad market square, said to be the second largest medieval square in England, framed by Georgian and older houses. William of Wykeham — Bishop of Winchester and founder of Winchester College and New College, Oxford — was born here around 1320. The Meon Valley Trail from West Meon ends at the village. Botley station is about 5km to the west.
