West Meon is a chalk-stream village near the source of the Meon. Thomas Lord, who founded Lord’s Cricket Ground, retired here and is buried in the churchyard; the village pub, the Thomas Lord, is named for him. The Meon Valley Trail, following a disused railway down to Wickham, starts just outside. Petersfield station is about 10km to the east.
