Tenterden is a Wealden market town with a broad, tree-lined High Street and the northern terminus of the Kent & East Sussex steam railway. Chapel Down, one of England’s best-known wineries, is just outside on the road towards Small Hythe. There’s no main-line station close; Appledore is about 10km south-east.
