Stockbridge is a small town with a single, unusually wide High Street that carries the road across the braided River Test. It’s the heart of England’s chalk-stream fly fishing — the exclusive Houghton Club has fished the water here since 1822 — and the clear channels run right beside the pavements. Independent shops and galleries line the street. Mottisfont & Dunbridge station is about 10km to the south-west.
