Houghton is a long thatched village following the River Test, close to Stockbridge. On its northern edge, Houghton Lodge Gardens surround a Georgian ‘cottage orné’ above the water, with formal grounds and chalk-stream walks open to visitors on set days. Mottisfont & Dunbridge station is about 6km to the south.
