At the northern tip of Arran, Lochranza has a ruined castle on the loch shore, the island’s whisky distillery and a summer ferry across to Kintyre. From the main Brodick ferry it’s a scenic drive over the hills; the seasonal Lochranza–Claonaig crossing gives a second, shorter link to the mainland.
