Llangollen packs a lot onto a short stretch of the Dee: the International Musical Eisteddfod each July, a steam railway, and the town bridge counted among the Seven Wonders of Wales. The Llangollen Canal ends here, carried east across the valley on the great Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. Above the town, Plas Newydd was home to the Ladies of Llangollen. Paid parking, and it gets busy in summer.
