Velvet Hill is open-access countryside in the care of the National Trust in Denbighshire. It is one of two National Trust places the Albion Guide charts in the county. Make a day of it: follow the towpath along Llangollen Canal, or wander the ruins of Valle Crucis Abbey. The nearest railway station is Ruabon, about 10 km to the east.
