Llangefni is Anglesey’s county town, an unshowy market and administrative centre in the middle of the island. The Oriel Môn gallery shows local history and the wildlife paintings of Charles Tunnicliffe, and the Dingle nature reserve follows a wooded river valley out of town. It’s a workaday place rather than a resort. Llanfairpwll station is about 8km to the south-east.
