Come on the first Sunday of the month for Frome’s big independent market, when the steep cobbles of Catherine Hill and the shops along Cheap Street fill with makers and stalls. It’s an independent-minded town on the Mendip edge, thick with galleries and small workshops the rest of the time too. The station is about 1km from the centre, on the line to Bath and London.
