A thatched square and church stand at the heart of Drewsteignton, on the hills above the Teign Gorge. Paths drop through the woods to Fingle Bridge, a 17th-century packhorse bridge with a riverside inn, and Lutyens’ Castle Drogo overlooks the gorge nearby. Chagford is a short way south-west round the moor’s edge. Yeoford is the nearest station, about 9km north-east.
