The most northerly village in Wales, Cemaes shelters behind a small harbour that looks out to the Irish Sea. Colourful cottages ring the quay, and a falling tide opens up rock pools along Cemaes Bay. Just to the west, the clifftop St Patrick’s church at Llanbadrig is said to mark where the saint was shipwrecked. Valley station is around 16km to the south-west.
