Bury is a riverside village of stone and thatch above the Arun, where a ferry once crossed to Amberley before the road bridge took the traffic. The novelist John Galsworthy spent his last years here in the 1930s. It’s a quiet spot for a walk down to the water. Amberley station is about 2km to the south-east.
