Bignor is a downland village near the Arun, best known for its Roman villa. Ploughed up in 1811, the site keeps some of Britain’s finest mosaics in situ and under cover, and opens from April to October. Bignor Park lies just west, and Sutton is next door. Amberley station is about 5km to the south-east.
