St Mary the Virgin sits in the near-deserted hamlet of North Stoke, in a loop of the Arun below Amberley. Now cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust, it keeps fragments of medieval wall painting and a quiet, little-altered feel. Usually open. Amberley station is only about 1km to the north-east.
