An E-shaped Elizabethan mansion built in 1577, set in its own deer park below the South Downs Way near Storrington. Inside is a notable collection of needlework, paintings and furniture; outside, a four-acre walled garden with a Wendy house and a working greenhouse. It opens from Easter to mid-October, Wednesday to Friday plus Sundays and bank holidays — gardens from noon, house from 2pm, with an admission charge. Amberley station is about 4km away.
