Broadstairs is a Thanet resort strung along seven sandy bays, with an old town above the main beach at Viking Bay. Dickens holidayed here often, and the clifftop house now called Bleak House looks down over the harbour; a Dickens festival runs each June. Broadstairs station is a short walk back from the seafront.
