Dreamland is Margate’s restored seaside amusement park, running since the 1920s and brought back to life in recent years. Its star turn is the Scenic Railway, a Grade II*-listed wooden coaster that’s the oldest in Britain. Entry to the park is free; you pay for a wristband to go on the rides. Margate station is right next door.
