Breedon on the Hill
Local highlightOn a limestone crag above the village stands the church of St Mary and St Hardulph, built within the ramparts of an Iron Age hillfort and holding one of England’s finest collections of Anglo-Saxon carving — including the Breedon Angel, among the oldest carved angels in the country. A quarry bites into the hill’s flank below, and a small domed lock-up sits on the green.
