Arncliffe is the quiet heart of Littondale, a scatter of houses around a broad green with the Falcon Inn on one side — the pub that served as the original Woolpack when Emmerdale Farm first filmed here in the 1970s. Pen-y-ghent rises away to the west. Litton lies a mile or so up the dale, and a field path climbs over the tops to Kettlewell in Wharfedale.
