Approximate location — this spot is pinned to the nearest village, so the exact point may be a little way off.
The Windermere Jetty Museum, on the lake shore near Bowness, holds a fleet of historic Windermere craft — steam launches, yachts and motor boats — in a sharp modern building of glass and slate, with a wet dock so some sit afloat. There are boat trips on the lake in season and a cafe out over the water. Paid admission. Easy to reach from Bowness-on-Windermere or Windermere station a mile or so away.
