Despite the name, the Roman Steps are a medieval packhorse route — a line of flagged stones climbing the pass of Bwlch Tyddiad into the craggy heart of the Rhinogydd. The walk starts from a car park at Cwm Bychan above Llanbedr and climbs steadily to the top of the pass. Open access land, but sturdy footwear is needed on the rock.
