Reached through a rock-cut tunnel driven straight through the cliff, Cove Harbour is a tiny stone haven below the Berwickshire cliffs, once busy with fishing boats and, the stories go, smugglers. It’s a short walk down a steep path from the village of Cove, and the harbour dries out at low tide. A quietly atmospheric spot — take care on the path down. Dunbar station is about 12km to the north-west.
