Bradgate Park is an 830-acre medieval deer park of bracken, oak and rocky outcrops, first enclosed some 800 years ago and still grazed by red and fallow deer. Near the middle stand the brick ruins of Bradgate House, childhood home of Lady Jane Grey, the “nine days’ queen”. It’s open access, with the main entrance at Newtown Linford on the western side. Barrow upon Soar station is about 8km to the north-east.
