The Griffin is run by the Cat & Wickets company, set up by cricketers Stuart Broad and Harry Gurney, who took it on from Everards in 2022 and gave it a big refit as a gastropub. It sits in Swithland in Charnwood Forest, handy for walks around the reservoir and Bradgate deer park. Barrow upon Soar station is about 5km to the north-east.
