Newtown Linford is the last village before Bradgate Park, and its street of thatched and slate cottages runs up to the main gates. The park beyond is old deer country of bracken and rock, with the ruined house where Lady Jane Grey spent her childhood and the folly tower of Old John on the skyline. Most people come to walk in from here.
