Just off the market square at Leyburn, the Sandpiper is a snug little dining pub in what’s reckoned to be the town’s oldest building, parts of it dating back centuries. It’s well regarded for its cooking, with a couple of rooms above. Check serving days midweek. Northallerton, some 25km east, is the nearest station.
