The Old Hall Inn is built onto the 16th-century Whitehough Hall at Chinley, and its dining room runs through into the hall’s Elizabethan minstrels’ gallery. It’s a serious ale pub, with eight or so changing casks and a shelf of awards, and shares a garden with its sister pub across the way, the Paper Mill Inn. Chinley station is a few minutes’ walk to the north.
