An old coaching inn out on the country roads at Netherley, south of Aberdeen, the Lairhillock keeps log fires going and does hearty country cooking. It’s the sort of tucked-away place that’s worth the detour off the main routes. Most people arrive by car, though Portlethen station is about 7km to the east.
