The Kings Arms is a traditional inn in Temple Sowerby, a quiet village in the Eden valley once dubbed ‘the queen of Westmorland villages’. It’s an unfussy local, handy for a pint and a plate near the National Trust garden and watermill at Acorn Bank just up the road. Langwathby, about 8km north-west, is the nearest station.
