The Dalesman is a busy inn and cafe-bar on the main street of Sedbergh, England’s official book town, tucked below the steep green Howgill Fells. Real ale, food through the day and rooms make it a good base for walking the Howgills or browsing the bookshops. Dent station is about 11km to the south-east.
