A big medieval church in the middle of Sedbergh, below the sweeping green Howgill Fells. Most of what stands dates from around 1500, with older fabric worked in and a Victorian restoration on top. In the churchyard grows a yew linked to George Fox, the founder of the Quakers, who preached in the town in 1652 before his famous sermon on nearby Firbank Fell. Open daily, a haven of calm right off the main street.
