You earn the Applecross Inn. The classic way in is over the Bealach na Ba, the greatest road ascent in Britain, which hauls you from sea level to over 2,000 feet of hairpin bends before dropping to the coast; the alternative is a longer, gentler shore road. Either way you arrive at a waterfront bar on Applecross Bay serving seafood landed that day. It’s single-track throughout, so allow plenty of time and book a table in season.
