The sandy bay below Applecross village looks across to the island of Raasay, with the Skye Cuillin beyond and rock pools scattered along the shore. Getting here is half the adventure — most people arrive over the Bealach na Ba, the great hairpinned pass, though there’s a gentler coast road in from the north too. The Applecross Walled Garden and its cafe are close by for afterwards.
