Stanley Park sits between Liverpool and Everton’s football grounds, a green buffer between two of England’s biggest clubs. Edward Kemp laid it out in the 1860s, and it opened in 1870 with sweeping terraces, a lake and the domed Isla Gladstone Conservatory, restored after years of decline and now used for events. Entry is free, with parking off Anfield Road, and a weekly market runs on Wednesdays from late March to December along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal path nearby.
