Sissinghurst is the garden Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicolson made around an Elizabethan tower, planted as a run of tightly hedged rooms and famous for the White Garden that’s been copied everywhere. It’s National Trust, open most of the year with timed tickets, and busy in summer. Headcorn station is about 6km north-east.
