Lupton Park is the setting for Lupton House, a late-Georgian mansion built for the Devon sheriff Charles Hayne, with an Italianate garden laid out below it. The house spent decades as a boarding school and now stands mostly empty while the Lupton Trust works through a long restoration; weekends usually bring a wedding. The grounds and gardens are free to walk during Coach House café hours, Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 3pm. It’s a short walk from Greenway, Agatha Christie’s house above the Dart, and the South West Coast Path.
