Behind the hall at Goadby Marwood runs a chain of five lakes, dredged and brought back from near-dereliction around the year 2000 and replanted to 18th-century plans, with several linked walled gardens above them. It sits in the Vale of Belvoir, north of Melton Mowbray, and opens on selected days through the National Garden Scheme and by arrangement. Worth pairing with the medieval church next door.
