This medieval house behind the church was built for chantry priests in the 14th century, and Henry VIII later handed it to Anne of Cleves as part of the settlement that ended their marriage. Whether she ever visited is unclear, but the building survives as a low-beamed Everards pub serving food. Melton Mowbray station is a couple of hundred metres away.
