Gargunnock House Garden is a big, mature garden about five miles west of Stirling, with a walled garden, woodland walks under azaleas and rhododendrons, and some fine old specimen trees. It’s especially good in late spring when the shrubs are in flower. It opens on set days and to booked groups through Scotland’s Gardens Scheme, so check the dates before you go. Bridge of Allan station is about 8km to the north-east.
