Bridge of Allan made its name as a Victorian spa, when visitors came to take the mineral waters below the Ochil Hills. The leafy high street still has that genteel feel, with independent shops and cafes along it, and the University of Stirling campus sits just to the south. The station on the Dunblane line puts Stirling only a few minutes down the track.
