Achamore Gardens spread across fifty sheltered acres on the little Isle of Gigha, where the Gulf Stream keeps things mild enough for subtropical planting to sit alongside the rhododendrons and azaleas. They’re around Achamore House and at their best in late spring. To get there, take the ferry from Tayinloan on the Kintyre coast. Kilchattan Church is also on the island.
