At the end of a long single-track coast road on the Knapdale peninsula, this whitewashed pub-with-rooms trades on unhurried cooking and traditional character, well worth the drive out. The remote setting opens onto the wooded hills of Knapdale, and the run can take in Castle Sween, one of Scotland’s oldest stone castles, further north.
