Despite the name, the Islay Frigate Hotel sits on the harbour at Tarbert in Kintyre, not on Islay. It’s a friendly harbourside hotel bar in the fishing village, good for a pint by the water. Handy for the Kintyre run or the ferry across to Cowal from nearby Portavadie.
