Thornby Moor Dairy is a small farmhouse cheesemaker near Thursby, out west of Carlisle, hand-making Cumberland and other territorial cheeses — its Allerdale goat’s cheese has a good name among them. It’s a working dairy rather than a day out, but cheese is sold from the farm, and you’ll also find it on plenty of local deli counters and menus across the county.
