The Balvenie is one of a tiny handful of distilleries that still does nearly everything in-house at Dufftown — growing and floor-malting some of its own barley, and keeping its own cooperage and coppersmith on site. That craft is the point of the tour, which runs in small groups and needs booking well ahead. Keith station is about 15km to the north-east.
