Pickering Phipps first brewed in the county in 1801, and by the late 1800s Phipps had grown into one of the biggest brewers in the Midlands before the name disappeared in the 1970s. It was revived, and since 2014 the beer has been brewed again in the restored 1884 Albion Brewery in central Northampton, which has a taproom and runs tours by booking. Northampton station is a short walk west, under a kilometre.
