Westgate Unitarian Chapel is a handsome Georgian meeting house of 1752, replacing an earlier chapel of 1697, tucked into Wakefield’s city centre. It began as a Presbyterian congregation and later turned Unitarian; inside there’s a pulpit of 1737, and catacombs below that open to the public now and then. Grade II* listed. It’s a minute or two from Wakefield Westgate station, and close to Wakefield Cathedral.
