The medieval village of Addingham and its first church were slowly washed away as the River Eden shifted course, so a new church went up on safer ground near Glassonby in the early 1500s. St Michael’s still stands there, a lonely spot reached down a lane off the Eden valley road.
Full name: St Michael's Church, Addingham (Glassonby)
